Objects for calm living
Calm isn’t a luxury — it’s a human need.
We design tactile objects that help you slow down, reconnect with your senses, and return to yourself.
Guided by mindful design and haptic medicine, our work begins with a simple truth: touch can heal, and the things we hold can shape how we feel.
Each piece is made for real life — your desk, your pocket, your nightstand — subtle, beautiful reminders to pause, breathe, and come home to your body.
Where Design Meets Nervous System Regulation
Our Mission
To bring calm into the everyday through design that speaks to the senses, supports the nervous system, and reminds you that peace is something you can touch.
Our Philosophy
We believe wellness should be accessible, tangible, and quietly powerful.
Design can be medicine, and a thoughtfully crafted object can do more than look good. It can help regulate your nervous system, restore focus, and nurture emotional balance.
Our work bridges art and science, drawing from psychology, somatics, and sensory design to bring mindfulness into everyday moments.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Samantha Sweig
A lifelong creative and student of mindfulness, Sam’s work is shaped by her own experience with anxiety and ADHD. What began as a personal search for discreet tools to stay grounded became a design philosophy: using texture, rhythm, and ritual to support the nervous system.
Through years of therapy, study, and practice, she found that the simplest grounding techniques — touch, breath, repetition — are the ones we most easily forget. Calmware was born to change that: transforming ancient rituals into modern, tangible forms we can reach for when we need them most.
Now an Entrepreneurial Fellow at the Yale School of Management and Founder in Residence at the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale, Sam continues to explore how design, mindfulness, and behavioral science can help people find stillness in motion.
“Sam has a rare gift. She creates objects that don’t just sit quietly in your hand; they change the way you move through the world.”
