Practice

trace it as you breathe.

Follow along with your Calmware piece in hand, or trace the shape on whatever's nearby: a desk, your palm, your pant leg works perfectly, too.

touch first. your breath will follow.

Most practices start with the breath or the mind. Ours starts with your hands. We call it the Reset Method.

You don't need to learn anything first. Your hands already know what to do. They may just need a little guidance or reminding.

The Reset Method

1. Touch

Find something textured to hold and notice how it feels against your skin. Give your attention one tangible place to land.

2. Breathe

Start to sync your breath with your hands. Trace across the surface as you breathe in, and trace back as you breathe out. Let your hands set the pace.

3. Rest

Stay as long as you like. There's no right number of rounds.

How to use your piece

Breathing tiles

Every tile has a raised path you can follow by feel. Start at the dot. Each stretch of the path carries one part of the breath, and each corner is where the breath changes.

  • Box: in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4. One side each.
  • Triangle: in for 4 up the left side, hold for 4 across the top, out for 4 back down.
  • 4-7-8: in for 4 to the peak, hold for 7 down the long side, out for 8 along the base.
  • Squiggle: count it (the breath changes at each curve), or let it flow and follow the line at your own pace.

If a count feels too long, shorten it. The shape matters more than the numbers.

Worry Less Stone

  • Rub it: move your thumb across the stone, back and forth, at whatever pace your hands want. No counting.
  • Breathe with it: trace across as you breathe in, and back as you breathe out.
