count it, or let it flow.

Some days you want a little structure. Some days you just need to follow a line. The Squiggle tile does both. Its raised path loops back and forth like a doodle in the margin, made for fingers that won't sit still.

No tile with you? Draw a squiggle with your fingertip on whatever's nearby: your desk, your palm, your pant leg.

The practice: two ways

Count it

  1. Start at the dot.
  2. Breathe in for 4 as you trace to the first curve.
  3. Hold for 4 to the second curve.
  4. Breathe out for 4 to the third curve.
  5. Hold for 4 to the end of the path.

Let it flow

Skip the counting. Breathe slowly as you follow the line at your own pace, back and forth, for as long as you like.

When to reach for it

  • When you want a little structure: count it
  • When counting feels like one more thing: let it flow
  • When your hands are restless in a meeting, on a call or in a waiting room

How it works with your hands

The path is raised, not carved, so you can follow it by feel. On the counted practice, each curve is where the breath changes. It's a built-in cue, so you don't have to keep track. On the flowing practice, the line simply gives your attention somewhere to go while your breath finds its own pace.

Choose your form

  • Small tile (1.75" × 1.75"): fits in a pocket, a palm or the corner of your desk.
  • Large tile (2.5" × 2.5"): a little heavier, a path you can really settle into. Lives well on a desk or nightstand.
  • Keychain (1.75" × 1.75"): clips to your keys or bag, so the path comes with you.

Mini keychains and jewelry charms are on their way. Join the list to hear first.
